Originally a Mac OSX dashboard widget (available here), Delivery Status Touch developed by Junecloud is a first of all great looking app, which allows you to track packages and deliveries – in real time – on the move. Supporting major delivery networks such as; UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, TNT, Canada Post, DPD, GSL …
… Japan Post, Parcelforce, Aramex, Posten Norway, Posten Sweden, Poste Italiane, Purolator, Royal Mail, Hermes Logistik Gruppe (HLG) and US Mail Innovations, this app seems like a pretty good way to track your parcel, right? And it gets even better. Delivery Status Touch also supports tracking of parcels ordered using Apple, Amazon, Adobe, Nintendo and Google checkout, before your parcel has even shipped.
Currently on sale for the holiday season, and at version 2.0, Delivery Status Touch offers you a ‘quick glance’ way at tracking your parcels, worldwide.
Creating an account
Now you don’t have to create an account with Junecloud to use Delivery Status Touch, but it does offer you the ability to keep all your deliveries in sync . Creating an account couldn’t be simpler. From the main screen touch the ‘i’ icon (bottom right). The screen will flip into the settings menu, and from here just touch ‘Sync Settings’ then ‘Sign Up’. The app will switch out to Safari and take you to an iPhone formatted registration form. Once you’ve setup your account you’ll need to activate it by clicking the link in the confirmation e-mail, and after that just enter your Junecloud login info into the Sync Settings panel.
Features
Apart from the app allowing you to see delivery information such as estimated date of delivery, your parcels current status and in some cases how many days left until you parcel arrives, it also offers a few features which are extremely sort-after. The first of these being mapping. With Delivery Status Touch you can physically map where it is your parcel currently is in the world using Google Maps, and the data it captured from your shopping account.
The great thing about Delivery Status Touch is that for some sites it supports, it doesn’t physically need you to enter a username or password. It’ll ask for either your parcel’s tracking number or your e-mail address associated with that account. From there it finds your parcel, and displays the correct information. After saying this, for some sites (i.e. Amazon), the app does require you to enter a valid username and password in order to access your account and retrieve the delivery data.
From the main screen, touching the icon on the left of each item flips up the current page you show you more detailed (in-depth) information about your order. In some cases (i.e. orders from Apple.com) the app will open your account with the login information you provided, and show the delivery on the actual site itself. It seems Delivery Status Touch has it’s own built in browser, although it can’t be used for regular surfing.
As for maps, I didn’t have any parcels which are in transit currently, so I couldn’t physically show you the maps side of the app working – however I’m told that a ‘Maps’ button appears on the bottom toolbar (to the left of the ‘Done’ button) when a package is identified as ‘in transit’ – which is pretty cool.
Here is a full list of sites which Delivery Status Touch currently supports tracking for:

Improvements
Everything is pretty much there on this, its just lacking support for a few major sites. The biggest two for me being Play.com and HMV
Overall Delivery Status Touch offers you an iPhone-friendly way to track all your packages at one time, from a number of sites and services, on the move – with mapping capabilities. At 59p, I can’t really argue with what it offers.
