“Dudes are falling from the sky! They may look smart, but they don’t know how to open their parachutes!” …

That’s the simple premise behind Paradudes from M2H, which is, to be honest, a simple game. Imagine Parachute Panic but without having to worry about landing on the boats or avoiding obstacles. All you need to worry about is making sure that you tap on every guy to ensure that their parachute opens. Every time you succeed you are rewarded with coins, tap on various other objects in the sky to get bonus coins.

Unfortunately, whilst the premise is fine, things start to go awry when you get down to actually playing. The graphics during actual gameplay are fine, nothing mind blowing but not overly bad, but given that the game is powered by Unity I felt that it should have delivered a bit more here.

Actual gameplay is okay, it starts off a bit slow but does speed up as you progress, though it seems to take forever and never seems to reach a point where you start to miss the guys, in fact, the only reason I’ve ever finished a game is because I’ve let the guys die on purpose so I could get on with doing something else. There is no autosave so you can’t pick up where you left off. The addition of this feature might have improved my opinion of this game.

It has online leaderboards so you can see where you rank against other players around the world, but this feature doesn’t work at present, the developers are aware of this and a fix was submitted to Apple on the 25 September so should be live very soon. Once this feature has been sorted it should certainly add something to the game.

Whilst I appreciate that this was made by a couple of guys and not a big corporation I really think we need to ask for more if they really want our money. This had the potential to be a good time killer game, but it just doesn’t feel like it really delivers. There is a Lite version available for those who want to have a go, but it’s just missing that certain something. I’m really hoping the developers take another look at this, and if it ever improves enough, I’ll be sure to let you all know.
