I was swiping through my Springboard trying to find an app I would like to review for everyone, when a blip on my second screen reminded me that I was late picking up my brother from Taekwondo. Since it has saved me from trouble on numerous occasions, I figured you would like to know about it too.

2Do is a task management GTD app by Guided Ways Technologies Ltd, also the people behind Groups.

The first thing any person will probably need this app for is… well, creating tasks. The plus button in the top right opens the todo creation screen. You can just quickly type the title of the task in and press create, or you can tap the area between the title and the keyboard to edit the options. There are several options, 13 in fact. I won’t go into all of them, but suffice it to say that everything you could need is there. I would like to highlight the alarms though. There are three types of alarms within the app: push notification, sounds, or an email. I love these reminders, they are such a life saver.

After you create a task, it appears in the all category and any category you placed it in. Tapping the ToDo’s tab at the bottom left of the app hides and un-hides the categories, giving you an undisrupted view of the category. Marking tasks as done can be accomplished multiple ways, and I’m sure everyone will have their own favorite option.  Holding and dragging on a task lets you drag and drop these tasks into new categories.

The options for ordering tasks are quite incredible. You can sort in ‘Ascending’ and ‘Descending’ order, by either status, priority, calendar, due date, note, URL, title, or if you prefer, manually.  Did I mention that these settings are configurable per category? I usually have the descending status set in the ‘All’ category, priority in ‘Today’, and due date set for the rest. The app also has very powerful search options, including a sound index. Search by date range, saved searches or by tags or people.  It’s good enough that you can type two letters, and find the exact task you were thinking of. It works perfectly, quickly and easily.

What I like best about 2Do is how easily you can perform group options, and change your tasks dynamically.  Did you go on a spring break binge and actually clean your house? Tap edit, select all your cleaning tasks, and mark them as done. Decide something belongs in a different category? There isn’t just one way to do it!

2Do has every option you could need at any given time, very close at hand, with minimal effort required by you to get it optimized. And the features just go on and on. They have password protection for categories. You can import birthdays from your contacts as tasks. It is compatible with ToodleDo and Outlook. When you receive a push alert, you can choose snooze. It even has support for TextExpander! I can’t really go into how the entire app works, there’s just too much.

Trust me. When I say: 2Do, is an GTD app with a feature list to envy. I mean it.

I'll throw my 2¢ in and fully agree with Alex here. 2Do has go to be the best GTD/Reminder app I have ever used. It's really easy to setup both repeating events as one as one offs. The UI is excellent and syncing with iCal/BusyCal is a breeze.

My only complaint with 2Do is that there are still some bugs with the notifications when a reminder fires off. I have had it get 7-8 reminder pings all at once all for the exact same reminder. Only thing I can figure is that for every day after the reminder was initially setup, a new push event will be sent. So 10 days after the reminder was created, you will get 10 pushes for that event.

To be fair, this doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen, its pretty annoying. If I could make it happen consistently, I would fire off an email to the developer explaining how to recreate it for fixing.

That little bug aside, it's truly a beautiful app and keeps with Guided Ways' Look & Feel. I have all of their productivity apps; Faces, Groups, TeeNiner, Callway, and iPercent.
