Back in April, Apple shocked the world by approving the @Opera Mini mobile browser. Other smartphones (including @Nokia and @Google’s Android Platform) has had the Opera mobile browser since the beginning.
Speculation began spreading on whether Apple would approve Opera Mini or not – and surprisingly enough, they did.
Opera Mini is still in its early stages, which means it could be (and is) tremendously buggy. Despite all the bugs though, it has many features that Safari does not have and has many (if not all) of the features Safari does have.

Personally, I will never use this feature and will surprise myself if I do.Optimize all webpages to a mobile view
Great feature that Apple should definitely incorporate in Safari.Fullscreen view

Nifty little feature that can become very useful.
Opera is also advertised to be 6X faster than Safari.
That’s just a very minuscule list of the features in Opera. Like I stated earlier, these features work; but my experience is they also make the application crash very often.
We’ve gone over the features Safari does not have. There is also a tiny list of features that Opera Mini does not have, that Safari proudly stands up and has listed in the settings. Most of these, though, are probably not used by the average iPhone user you pick up off the street. Most likely, these are used by more advanced geeks.

Those are pretty much the main differences between Mobile Safari and Opera Mini 5, besides a different UI. Personally, I currently keep Safari as my primary browser on the iPhone. To be honest, despite Opera’s marketing efforts, I just fail to see much of a difference in speed. Hopefully soon Opera can smooth out this rough piece of stone. It will be very interesting to see what this mobile browser has in store for us, in the future.
You might as well pick up Opera Mini in Apple’s App Store. It’s FREE. Try it out and see if you like it, and let us know what you think in the comments.
