We’ve just received word from @Origin8 that Space Station: Frontier, their deep space mining adventure title has today received an update which adds mutliplayer options.
You are the Overseer of a deep space mining operation, scouring the farthest reaches of the Solar System for valuable resources. It would be a peaceful job but for one thing: a vicious, mysterious alien race is violently contesting your claim to this territory.
Building on the existing single player gameplay, head to head local WiFi/Bluetooth multiplayer mode sees both players scrambling for resources to construct and fortify their deep space mining base ”“ or to launch fleets of attacking alien craft on their opponent’s device. Juggle spending on mining, defense and offense to survive your enemy’s onslaught; destroy the opposing station to be declared the winner!
iPad owners needn’t feel left out, as this same multiplayer update to the iPad version of the game, Space Station: Frontier HD, is currently in submission. We’re told both versions of the game will be fully compatible in multiplayer, so iPhone and iPod touch players can battle against an iPad as easily as against a second pocket device.
To celebrate the approval of this update, the company has announced from late Friday 21st (tonight), the game will go on sale for just $0.99, or regional equivalent, with the sale ending the morning on Monday 24th.
