Well it seems last week was a pretty busy week for App Store preview videos on @YouTube. Today we found what looks to be the first trailer from @TakoGames for the first ever pop-up book for iPad.
We all know the iPad pretty great for e-books, but once you’ve read an e-book you’ve pretty much read them all. Users of this device are always looking for the next level in reading experience.
Sure we’ve seen Alice in Wonderland reinvent the digital e-book as far as the 2D approach goes, introducing truly interactive elements into an otherwise flat experience – but what about taking 2D to the next level?
Features:
– A Timeless Story
– Beautiful Illustrations
– Fully functioning interactive pop-up elements in real-time 3D
– Various viewing angles as well as zooming options
– Different font sizes and scrolling for larger texts.
– Various options such as background music and sound effects.
This Christmas, indie developers TakoGames are gearing up to launch a digital adaption of the classic Christian allegory Pilgrim’s Progress for iPad – and we have to say we’re already pretty impressed. The book will render itself in full 3D glory with virtual camera views within this ‘3D space’ switching and twisting dependent on the pop-up content.
Colour us interested!
