Mills of London-based design studio Ustwoâ„¢, also the developers behind MouthOff and the .â„¢ 48hrapp series, today informed us that the company had just this second pushed a server-side update to their App Store ranking engine, PositionAppâ„¢.
We’re told the server side update really puts PositionAppâ„¢ at the top of the app discovery and awareness chart, with the update adding three main features.
These 3 server-side features include:
Ӣ Increased time between updates (from 8 hours down to 3 hours)
Ӣ Addition of more countries
Ӣ Addition of games sub-categories (19 new top 300 charts)
The new data update means every 3 hours the company will be pushing new charting data to your iPhone or iPod touch. Previous to today’s server-side update, the app would only check for and update chart data every 8 hours or so.
In addition, the update adds sub gaming categories, increasing the chances of a game developers app appearing in the top 300 of PositionAppâ„¢. As ustwoâ„¢ themselves note, the app now shows the top 300 charts for 19 new individual game sub categories.
Alongside today’s announcement of the update, ustwo also announced their are shifting roughly 20 copies of PositionAppâ„¢ a day, with the app tending to be one which stays on people’s phones.
PositionApp™ is an essential tool for anyone in the iPhone business and now retails at £3.99. The first two months saw PositionApp™ go free as we were sponsored by AdMob and now we are directly selling upwards of 20 PositionApp™s a day right now.
Its clear that it’s an app that stays on peoples phone and is more importantly an app that gets usage daily. Over 1 Million User Sessions and over 7 Minutes session length.
