… and the rumors just keep coming!
Citing nothing more than they have received confirmation from multiple AT&T store representatives that sales quotas for the month of June are ridiculously high, @BoyGeniusReport is today taking a stab at the launch date of the next-gen iPhone.
After the bucket-load of rumors and leaks we’ve worked our way through over the last few weeks and months, if the next-gen iPhone is anything like that which has been found in the leaks, its hardly going to be surprising.
Using the facts they have, and some common sense, technology columnists @BoyGeniusReport are taking a stab that they think the next-generation iPhone is set to launch June 18th.
As the site explains below:
Knowing how many units stores received per day/week last year, if the iPhone launched in the last week of June, on Friday the 25th, we’re pretty sure the new sales quotas couldn’t be met (in-store orders don’t count as they don’t get recognized until the customer picks them up). We have heard stores having a 25-30% increase in their sales quota, so we’d like to think the next Apple iPhone will launch on Friday, June 18th.
The logic is there. Apple have not yet released any new iPhone model on the day of announcement (i.e at WWDC) like most seem to be hoping for. Personally speaking, I think their guided stab in the dark is pretty much spot on.
