Developed by Avatar Labs and released on Thursday, Rhythm Racer 2 is the sequel to Rhythm Racer. If you’re not yet familiar with the series of games, the aim of the game is to keep the music playing and rack up points by hitting as many ‘Power Spheres’ and jumps as you can.
Described as a mix between “F-Zero” and “Guitar Hero”, the game involves you driving a spaceship around a set of rhythmic courses, to the backing of your favourite music.
If you miss a note, you’ll know about it. Recover quick and you’ll still have a chance to get a streak and post a high score. The in-game pickup placement system keeps it interesting by making sure that no two races are ever the same.
The game is available for both iPhone and iPod touch, and iPad (as a separate application) – all of which are FREE with the ability to purchase more tracks via in-app purchase.
