@TiPB is today reporting via technology columnists @Engadget that Apple has posted a few new job postings on its job vacancies section, which seems to suggest the company is hiring antenna engineers for iPhone and iPad.
The move comes as Apple is facing a huge backlash from its user base over what is now commonly known as the “Death Grip” issue.
To make sure they didn’t have to spoil the new design by having a huge docking black bar running along the top of the phone, Apple decided to integrate the antenna into the actual structure of the phone. Hidden from view in what Jobs called “really cool engineering”.
But the change has caused an issue which has so far been able to be reproduced by costumers in all five launch countries. Its called the ‘Death Grip’. So, what is it? Well if you happen to hold your new iPhone 4 in your left hand with the bottom left quadrant of your palm covering the bottom left corner of the phone, you may start to see a change in signal strength when connected over 3G.
Today @TiPB is reporting Apple has posted two new job positions which suggest the company is now looking for help regarding the issue. Posted June 29th, the job requirements are listed below.
It’s clear that Apple is aware of the issue, as yesterday an internal document from Apple Care leaked showing in detail how Apple is training its employees to deal with customer service requests relating to issue, most notably stating the company is NOT compensating users with FREE Apple Bumper cases, as previously rumored.
If these two discoveries show us anything, its that Apple knows we all want prefect reception on our new iPhone 4’s, but it doesn’t yet know how to provide it.
