A few days ago, Owen Goss (@OwenGoss) of Streaming Colour Studios contacted RazorianFly to give us a heads up on the studio’s new upcoming release, Monkeys in Space: Escape to Banana Base Alpha”’.
Owen Goss and Streaming Colour aren’t by any means new to the App Store. Their debut was Dapple, earlier this year. A simple match-3 type puzzler which seemed to strike a cord with the App Store crowd, almost immediately. In the studio’s next release, Monkeys in Space: Escape to Banana Base Alpha”, players will be tasked with rescuing monkeys floating in outer space.
Teaser
Now, from the teaser, it’s hard to grasp how the games control systems will work, what other characters will be involved (if any), and how actual game play will fair once it hits – I know what your thinking, that’s the whole point of a trailer, right?
But you’ve got to admit, they have kicked it old school with this one! Clue as to how the graphical nature of the game might play out? From my first impressions, I’m thinking game play will replicate (or be similar to) something like Glu‘s Space Monkey [App Store].
From the press release:
“I’m very excited to be announcing Monkeys in Space: Escape to Banana Base Alpha,” said Owen Goss, founder of Streaming Colour Studios. “This is a very different style of game from our first game, Dapple. Monkeys in Space is a faster paced game that will be enjoyed by casual players as well as by players looking for a challenge. Plus, it has space monkeys. Who doesn’t love space monkeys?”
According to Streaming Colour, Monkeys in Space: Escape to Banana Base Alpha will be available in the iTunes App Store for iPhone (and iPod touch) in Fall, of this year. As ever we’ll have a full uncut review of the title as and when it hits!
