Published in the Borough of Southwark, London and with the physical edition usually printed at 22 different sites, the Financial Times (@FT) is a British international newspaper which is well respected by a wide audience, specifically those in the business sector.
Specifically reporting on the business markets, the paper is known for being both sophisticated and having a huge readership.
Having already created and released a specific app for the publication for the iPhone, Pearson PLC the owners of the broadsheet a few weeks ago released an iPad-specific version of the newspaper. The app puts everything you love about the Financial Times in your hands, and on the iPad’s large screen feels just like (if not better) than the physical paper version.
The app allows users to read up to 3 articles for FREE, and then subscription is required. Luckily, the paper has recently teamed up with Swiss-based watch maker Hublot, and are now offering users of the FT iPad app the ability to create an account and read the contents of the newspaper for a whole 3 months, without the need for payment.
But be quick – this offer is set to end 31st July 2010.
[Update] – As noted by @ThomasDavies, the FT also offers students with .ac.uk addresses the ability to sign up for a years FREE student subscription.
