Building on the shoulders of Apple’s recently released iBookstore, mobile solutions company @ElectricPocket, also the developers behind @BugMeApp, have today announced the release of their book cataloging app BookLover.

Designed to look and feel like a real bookcase, BookLover allows users to store and catalog books they are currently reading, books they have seen and would like to read and books they have seen and would like to share with friends.

The virtual bookcase is split up into three main sections: Reading Now, To Read and Have Read, with each book on each shelf assigned its own, later customizable, book cover. Each book placed can be dragged and dropped into a different position, just as you would with the icons on your homescreen.

Alongside the functionality of being able to catalog book titles into these three categories, BookLover also allows for the taking of notes, allowing you to jot down important notes for say .. your book club discussion, or just remembering who last borrowed your copy of Matilda.

More information on the app can be found at the very appropriately named official site booklove.rs BookLover, released today, is now available on the App Store for just 59p. We’ll be sure to sang a copy of the app and give you our full take on it soon.
