Yesterday Bolt Creative, developers of the highly successful App Store game @PocketGod, issued an update to the app, version 1.32.1 … one side effect to this update? It made all the application’s in-app purchasable content freely available to everyone. Worldwide.
If you’re not yet familiar with pocket God the app sees you instantly become “God” over the islands (admittedly cute) inhabitants (the Pygmies) and surrounding features.
Each week since its launch, we’ve had the chance to control a different aspect of the island or its inhabitants, and considering the series is now up to its 32nd episode, its fair to say that you can now control almost everything you can touch. From the current weather condition, to sharks with lasers, fishing, jumping on the clouds doodle-jump style (mini-game), turning the pygmies into walking zombies, have them eaten by hungry ants and dropping boulders on them ”¦ The list just goes on!
As noted by App Store quality radar @KRAPPS, the latest update to the game introduced a new god power that allows you to crack the ground underneath an unsuspecting pygmy, among other trippy stuff.
“You can then drag the pygmies into the crack and be transported to an underground hellhole full of lava, bats and giant demons. Once inside this lava paradise, a new mini-game initiates called “The Runs”.”
One highly noticed side effect to this update however was all in-app purchases became freely available. Whether this was done purposely as a kind of publicity stunt or was simply a mistake of the developers part is yet to seen. Sure enough though, in-app purchases within the adorable app are now purchasable again …
