iPhone 4: Delivery Moves Up to June 23rd for Some Lucky Pre-Order Customers

We just got a tip this morning via Twitter which suggests that Apple may be expediting shipment of some iPhone 4 orders to be delivered tomorrow morning – one whole day before the official release date, as set by the company.

Although that move may seem very un-apple to you on first impressions, it kind of makes sense …

… After all, Apple received a staggering 600,000 pre-orders for iPhone 4. The most of any mobile phone on the planet and as such its clear the company will be struggling with getting them all delivered for June 24th.

Trouble is, they can’t afford to let the delivery date slip to June 25th on orders which were placed and confirmed on June 15th as delivering June 24th. So our reckoning, is that Apple are going to start shipping early, getting some orders to some customers out on June 23rd.

How do we know this? Today we got a tip from Twitter user @Kyl_e who sent us a copy of a notification e-mail (seen above) that he received from Apple earlier today. As you can see, the e-mail clearly states that even though tracking systems say his order is due for delivery June 24th, it will actually be delivered June 23rd. Tomorrow.

Meanwhile UK pre-orders are still sitting at “Not Yet Shipped” – but fear not! According to our sources, they have been shipped .. well, at least from Shanghai. They’re currently sitting in a distribution center in Cork, Ireland, for reported shipping tomorrow for delivery June 24th.
