  • Breaking: iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 Released. – [Updatedx6]

Apple release iPhone 2.0.2. Bug Fixes? -_-.

    [Updatex6] – (15.48pm GMT)

A change has been noticed in the application update process of iTunes:

    According to ‘TwiceNightly’ (Mac Rumors.com)

    Before:

If you had more than 1 update to your installed apps you could press an “Update All” button and it would download them and install them sequentially.

While updating an app the App Store was pretty much useless. You could hardly even get into the App Store and whem you did it was very slow, if not empty.

    Now (with the 2.0.2 update):

The “Update All” button is gone, so you have to look at each app and choose to update.

You can now browse the store while an app is updating, not only to go back and choose your next update but you can also browse around the store with no lag.

  • Rapid Review: Koi Pond for iPhone.

While browsing the store this evening, I came across a unique application. Koi Pond [App Store].

Basically, Koi Pond by The Blimp Pilots, is a CGR (Computer Generated Realisation) of … well a Koi pond (Koi are fish for anyone wondering …). So what does the application do? – Quite a lot for £0.59.

    Basics
When you launch the application you are faced with a very inviting pond. Dependent on the pond’s settings, the pond, at first, may be very dull, have no fish or contain no lily pads. Run your finger through the water, and you’ll be subject to a dynamic water simulation – it rocks. When I say it rocks, you know the visual feedback you get of running your hand under your tap? – It’s that kinda ‘rocks’ – it’s superb …

  • Simplify Media: It’s hard to share your music, when you find out it’s secured.

Yesterday I blogged about a new, easy, secure way to share your iTunes libraries with other people across the globe. With it, I invited you guys to share mine. Couldn’t access it because of a prompt for a password? – I apologise. I recently found out I had my shared library password protected. This restriction has now been lifted – Go ‘n’ enjoy my music! 🙂

For anyone else who wants to add me through Simplify Media:

  • The Halo Effect: Does it exist, or is it Hype?

    The Halo Effect

    From Wikipedia

“The halo effect refers to a cognitive bias whereby the perception of a particular trait is influenced by the perception of the former traits in a sequence of interpretations.”

When people talk about Apple, they talk mainly about the iPod. The iPod had, and most still think, has, a halo effect surrounding it. The basic theory is, you end up buying a low end iPod at first, and on that experience alone, brings you to upgrade to a higher, more featured, model …

  • Mobile Chat 3: The Review. – [Updated]

    —————————————————————————————————–
Please note: The information in the article is highly exaggerated.
For more information please visit: The Shambles that is Mobile Chat 3
    —————————————————————————————————–

    [Updatex3] – 20.08.08 (02.11am GMT)

No Push Capability // No persistent connection is kept
Something which should have been clarified a long time ago, is that Mobile Chat 3 for iPhone currently does NOT retain a connection to your account if you close the application. This will hopefully change when Apple implement ‘push’ technologies into iPhone OS, until then, we wait.

    [Updatex2] – 19.08.08 (23.35pm GMT)

Twenty08 yesterday announced they have joined forces with one the greatest developers the iPhone has seen to date. Alex Schaefer. Recognisable as the developer of ‘Apollo IM’ for jailbroken units, Alex has officially joined the payroll over at the MobileChat base camp. Interestingly, Saverio notes Alex brought up some pretty nice ideas for UI enhancements and program stability. The relationship is said to be exclusive between Twenty08 and Schaefer, hinting Alex may drop support for Apollo IM on the jail-break scene. Apollo IM was a freely available application which did not use the ‘App Store’ distribution model.
