  • Apple Hiding Issues from Public View, due to ‘Image’ concern?

Although this is not a new occurrence, In a recent post over at Mac Rumors, member Mcdj notes:

“In a Google search for answers to the problems I described in this post, I came across a page on the Apple discussion boards. When I clicked the link, it came up as a non-existent page on the discussion board…i.e. the post had been deleted. I went back and clicked Google’s cached version of the page. I expected to find a long flame war or profanity laden rants…the kind of stuff Apple usually yanks.

    Instead, I found this…

Why would Apple go out of their way to delete a seemingly innocuous post?” …

  • EA: “We’re Bringing Need for Speed to iPhone and iPod touch!” – [Briefly]

Electronic Arts earlier last month announced its intentions to bring one of the most popular racing franchises in the world, to iPhone. Need for Speed first saw it’s introduction into the gaming world in 1994, and it’s safe to say that although it proved the concept, the graphics and storyline wore thin. Today, Need for Speed is a fast-action, thrilling ride, with customisable cars, tracks, and truly mind blowing graphics …

There is however a temporary fix. The following instructions are how to completely disable iTunes from backing up your devices. 1) Quit iTunes
    2) Open Terminal.app
    3) Type (or copy and paste) the following command, then hit Return:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

    4) Open and run iTunes …

  • Lumen for iPhone. – [Updated]

    [Update – 02.09.08] – (14.26pm GMT)

It seems Bridger has gone one step further. In an attempt to get people interested in Lumen’s new revised UI, he is now including it within the free version of the application, Lumen Lite! [App Store].

    [Update – 02.09.08] – (12.27pm GMT)

“Thanks for the coverage! Your review is great.
It is always cool to hear from someone who enjoys playing Lumen.

I have to give credit where it is due though. Adam Betts was the artist who redesigned the interface. To be honest I didn’t even give him any guidelines on what needed changing on the interface. He completely came up with everything himself. He spotted many UI flaws that Lumen had and fixed them without any instruction from me. He also was great about communicating his progress, delivering very on time, and charged a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.”

    Thank You,
    Bridger Maxwell

    [Updatex2 – Apparently Not]

    Recent Claims
Earlier in the month Kevin Rose, founder of Digg outlined what he thought the outcome of Apple’s September 9th special event, would be. Among the claims were a minor re-design to the iPod touch, bringing with it the addition of a GPS module. Also expected is a major overhaul to the iPod nano, bringing with it a more curved profile. Now all this is great, but the claim which seems to have been overlooked is the possible introduction of a monthly subscription option for iTunes purchased music. iTunes Unlimited …
