Among the hype of the Let’s rock event, it seems the world may have been thinking about the future of the iPod, without actually questioning where it came from originally … (more…)

Sarbanes-Oxley: Required Charge for New Feature Additons, yet ‘Genius’ is Free. Eh? – [Briefly]
Since the introduction of iPod touch and the 1.1.3 January Software Update, it’s apparent Apple will now slap a charge on any software which includes new features. Ok – I get that, the work goes in, something has to come out – you may disagree – I went through a spell of doing just that, but the recent 2.1 update was free for iPod touch users, and it included a pretty huge feature addition.

Apple’s ‘Remote’ Gets Update to 1.1 – [Updated]
[Update 17.09.08 @ 11.36am]
Brenda contacted me last night (Hi Brenda!) to say this:
“The 1.1 update has a bug. You no longer can select your speakers in the settings section, it just disappeared.”

Above the play controls you’ll now see ‘Speakers’, and it’s then just a case of tapping that to get options for your remote speakers – I agree, it’s that well hidden, I would have thought the feature was taken out too!

It’s apparent Apple have a certain ‘nack’ of picking up-beat, and fairly original music for the backing of their adverts. Now, I don’t know about you lot, but most times if I like the track, I’ll go in search for it on iTunes and actually buy it! … (more…)

iTunes 8.0: “I Still Can’t Update your Applications, but Hey – I’m Shiny …”
According to a few new threads emerging, it seems iPod touch and iPhone users are experiencing yet further problems with the application update process. I recently told you about the ‘I show you 5 updates but really mean 97’ bug, and thankfully that is yet to show it’s face in iTunes 8.0. What has shown it’s face however, is a problem much worse than mere graphic misrepresentation.
It seems, iTunes 8.0 can no longer update applications, full stop … (more…)
