  • A Brief Look at: Brightkite for iPhone

I have to admit I’d never heard of Brightkite until the application hit the store yesterday (is that bad, should I have known what it was? :/). I’m sure this was one of the intentions of the developers, to get the word out, so I’m not too worried, I’ll just pretend to be one of those new guys – you know the ones … I’ve gathered it’s a fairly popular social networking client which aims to use location API’s to let everyone know where you are, and if you choose, what your doing …

I was accepted into the beta phase and received my invite from them late last night.
Hit up the jump for our full look … (more…)

  • TVPlus: Record to your Sky+ box. Wirelessly – [Updated]

Released just a few days ago, this is definitely one for UK and Ireland. TVPlus is in fact the first application on the store to offer and integrate Sky‘s ‘Remote Record’ functionality. What this means is, you can be out and about with your iPhone (or iPod touch), and as long as you have access to a Wifi connection, your one tap away from sending a ‘record’ request for your favorite movie or TV show, to your Sky+ box at home.

Sound sweet? – Well it is, for the most part.
However, there are a lot of downsides which go with it … (more…)

  • [Sept/Oct] – Recent App Round-Up

With the recent removal of the ‘All iPhone Applications’ and ‘Most Recent’ search features on the App Store, it can now be quite a task to find recent, decent applications. This was precisely one of the reasons for Arnold Kim launching App Shopper a few weeks back.

However, I’d like to take a few minutes to look at some applications which have caught my eye, and that I think you may just have missed … (more…)

  • Raging Thunder: Could the iPhone actually be set to rival Sony’s PSP gaming capabilities? – [Updated]

    [Update 14.10.08 @ 16.25pm]

As pointed out by one our readers ‘Monk’, Polarbit have indeed knocked 50% off the retail price of Raging Thunder, bringing it down to a very affordable £2.39 (~$3.99)!

This is said to be a limited time offer – get it while you can guys/gals! [App Store]

    Original Article:

You’ve tried Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, you’ve tried Crog-Mag Rally and you may have even tried Moto Chaser, GTS World Racing and possibly Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart – but if you haven’t picked up Raging Thunder by Polarbit yet, here’s exactly why you should … (more…)

  • The Ultimate list of ‘Noteworthy’ iPhone Applications – [Updated]

Ok, this is it. A few weeks ago I said I would sift through the App Store for you, ignoring the badly designed, to find you the cream of the crop. Now, the three separate articles, Part 1, 2 and 3 I originally posted, had to be pulled before the launch of RazorianFly.com as I had no time to edit them to look nice with the new template. Instead I am providing an ‘Ultimate list of Noteworthy iPhone Applications’, a culmination of part 1, 2 and 3, which will be updated continuously … (more…)

  • Breaking: iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 Released. – [Updatedx6]

Apple release iPhone 2.0.2. Bug Fixes? -_-.

    [Updatex6] – (15.48pm GMT)

A change has been noticed in the application update process of iTunes:

    According to ‘TwiceNightly’ (Mac Rumors.com)

    Before:

If you had more than 1 update to your installed apps you could press an “Update All” button and it would download them and install them sequentially.

While updating an app the App Store was pretty much useless. You could hardly even get into the App Store and whem you did it was very slow, if not empty.

    Now (with the 2.0.2 update):

The “Update All” button is gone, so you have to look at each app and choose to update.

You can now browse the store while an app is updating, not only to go back and choose your next update but you can also browse around the store with no lag.

  • The better way to sketch, on iPhone – [Updatedx2].

    [UPDATE] – 27/08/08 (19.46pm GMT)

LateNightSoft has announced it’s 1.3 update of Sketches is now in review and should be available soon.
This update is said to bring the following new features to Sketches:

    – Text input
    – Web Sharing
    – Easily locate shapes (New Algorithm)
    – New ‘Office Items’
    – Tip system
    – Bug Fixes and Optimisation

    [UPDATE] – 01/08/08

I recently e-mailed LateNightSoft to notify them of the usage of material they own the copyright for, within this article.
The response I got back included information of future planned features!

“… Many thanks for letting us know, and for calling our attention about such a thorough review of our application! We’ve put a lot of effort into Sketches and feel proud and happy whenever we know people like it. The suggested features in the final section of your article are very interesting. I can confirm that we are now working on the ability to export to e-mail, so you can expect that in a future release. It hasn’t been available yet because Apple has not yet released an approved way to send an email with attachments from within a third party app. The only feature available in the official SDK is to launch the Mail application, but this would mean quitting Sketches AND losing the attachment data, so we have no option but to create our own mail delivery interface. It is not an optimal solution (it will look different than Apple’s Mail application; we won’t be able to automatically retrieve your mail account configuration from the system), but we hope it will get the job done.

Other features we are working on right now are the ability to enter text using the on-screen virtual keyboard, and an eraser tool. Many other ideas are planned for future releases, I hope you like them!”

    Thanks again!
