  • Trailers by xTeo

Being into movies myself, I’ve been watching this app very closely. After submitting feedback to it’s developers back in late September outlining the use of tacky UI elements and bugs which ultimately made the app crash, they finally released version 1.1.0 on the store. A stable, feature-full offering which is sure to give you all that trailer-goodness you so very much love and have probably been looking for … (more…)

  • iPhoneOS: Where is Push Notification?!

On June 9th, Apple Inc announced it had intentions to provide a viable solution to background processing on the iPhone and iPod touch. While taking a dig or two at Microsoft’s ‘Task Manager’ stating clearly that this wasn’t the way forward, WWDC08 also saw Apple announce it’s Push Notification Service. A solution which would save your battery, and keep a persistent connection to any applications which needed it. A service, which was promised, but is yet to be implemented … (more…)

  • Classics: The Stylish eBook Reader, Now Available – [VIDEO]

[Update] – See Classics in action, with our brief video walk-through. Just added.

Let me first say I’ve never really been the reading type. I went through a spell while on holiday one year of picking up a book and not being able to put it down. The most prominent of these two being ‘Digital Fortress’ [Wiki] and ‘The Da Vinci Code’ [Wiki] by Dan Brown. Two amazing reads if you ever get a chance to look at them.

Anyhoo, for the purpose of this review, I last night bought Classics. Not because I like reading (although I can feel I probably will again, after using this app for a while), I wanted to talk to you about it’s clearly leading user interface … (more…)

  • iPhone 2.2 is Shaping up to be one Major Update – [Updated]

With Apple seeding the latest beta of iPhone OS 2.2 to developers, there are now emerging details of feature additions which some users have been requesting since it’s initial introduction. Some of the features that will be added will set a new president for mobile mapping capabilities, while others may set up the road for future, more interesting, feature-full applications further down the line … (more…)

  • Ngmoco Debuts on the Store: Maze Finger & Topple

Ngmoco have been in the news a lot lately, but they first hit it big for being one of the first companies to, aim development at Apple’s touch platform, and secondly, secure funding from the $100.000.000 iFund.

The VC-funded Silicon Valley start-up ngmoco have this morning debuted two of their three killer apps onto the App Store. Committed to making iPod touch and iPhone the leading platforms they were created to be, and focusing on bringing innovation into the world of touch, ngmoco are certainly an App Store presence to watch.

After the jump I get into what these two new titles offer,
and why you’ll be falling over yourself to get their third … (more…)

  • Hot Pick: FlipSide5’s Touch Hockey – [Updated]

Ever since the App Store launched, we’ve seen many developers attempt to design ‘the’ retro table hockey title for the touch platform. Many have tried, some have even (in my opinion) failed.

FlipSide5’s Touch hockey is one of the better titles.
Hit up that jump for more information on this pretty hot game … (more…)

  • The Aftermath: Spotlight Turns to Notebooks

After the overall disappoint of Let’s Rock, Apple again took to the stage yesterday announcing pretty much everything which had been rumored previous, but was it really enough to satisfy the market?

I’ll first get down to what was initially announced, and then get into what I personally liked and disliked about the products announced. Then, later on today, Chris will also update this post with his opinion on yesterdays events … (more…)
