Each week will feature around $10 worth of Apps we feel are noteworthy enough, to give you a small impression on. Now sit back, relax and see what good apps were released this week.

Snood by Electronic Arts – $3.99

Snood is a great casual game that is based off the well known match 3 games that we see time and time again. Snood takes you on the adventure of a lifetime with some classic and brand new Snoods to lead you through five fun game modes. Snood is very similar to games like Bubble Town by I-Play Mobile and the also recently released Bust-A-Move by Taito. What makes Snood a winner is its only play which lets you play against anyone around the world.

The lovable characters and beautiful graphics are coupled together with an average storyline, which from my short time playing it is just a few levels before being introduced to new characters. There are some special Snoods to help you along your way though. The game is pretty addictive and the different game modes keep you entertained. From one player to two players to online play, there is always something to do in the game. Fans of the classic will adore this and is a great puzzler. One to think about picking up.

Inkvaders by Chillingo – $0.99

Inkvaders is the latest title from Chillingo, which has been created with the same concept that was so successful for Zombieville USA and Sparta. Inkvaders takes place in an overrun city on earth and you have to blast your way througnh the hungry martians coming your way. There are 30 levels in three locations to fight through with the help of many futuristic items. With Paper Mario like graphics you are in for one serious thrill ride with Inkvaders.

Inkvaders is alot of fun and has some extra features that I feel put it above the rest of the competion. As in Zombieville and Sparta you move left and right, ultimately trying to move to the end of the level. Inkvaders lets you fly around when needed to collect meteors and to avoid stick situations. You can also carry three upgradeable weapons as you fight your way through the various hordes of martians. An addictive game that on first impressions is easily worth the price of $0.99.

Gang$tar: West Coast Hustle by Gameloft – $6.99

Gangstar is quite possibly the best game to come onto the App Store since The Sims 3. I was loving having 2D and 2.5D GTA 1 & 2 look-a-likes to play around with on my iPod, but a full on GTA clone in a massive 3D environment is amazing. This game has it all, brilliant graphics, a great storyline with over 50 missions to complete and the option to roam around the massive city doing almost whatever you please. This shows why Rockstar Games should be bringing GTA: Chinatown Wars to the iPhone.

This game is absolutely amazing and without a doubt proves how powerful the iPhone is. While the cities seem to be a bit empty, this is a massive game that shows off with graphics and gameplay to die for. With the ability to run over, shoot and punch people to death its good to see Apple let violence off the hook with this game. The storyline is engaging and will keep you coming back for more hour after hour. Seriously, for $6.99 this is a game not to miss out on. Should be $9.99 or even the first game to go $10+.

Other Notable Releases this week Include:

Bust-A-Move by Taito Corporation

iMech by Flying Dino

Luxor by MumboJumbo

Wizard Warfare by Sugar Devil Studios

Stay tuned next week for the second installment of ‘The Week That Was’.
