It’s October, and that means one thing, Halloween is coming. So this seemed like the ideal time to take a look at iMEvil, a new entertainment soundboard from TechPad Productions.

Let me begin by assuring you this isn’t another one of those gimmicky soundboards with poorly imitated voices that sound nothing like the people they’re supposed to be. This features the voice talent of David Sobolov who some of you may recognize from his work on over 40 computer games including; Halo Wars (The Arbiter) and Call of Duty 4 (LT. Vasquez) as well as upcoming titles such as Guild Wars 2.

Now, I’ve been informed that this is one of the first apps in the AppStore to make use of the Screen Actors Guild New Media Agreement. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but it certainly makes for a whole load of fun and presumably how they were able to use Sobolov’s voice talents.

Right, that’s the background details over and it all sounds pretty impressive, but what are you actually getting for your money. Well, as any of you that have previously purchased a soundboard will know that, in essence, you get a selection of sound clips, in this case there are currently 36 sounds to play around with, and the developers have stated that it will be updated regularly with new content. In fact, the screenshots on the AppStore have been updated to V1.3.0, so presumably a new release is already in the works.

Having played around with this for a week, I must admit I did enjoy trying to find the most appropriate, or should that be inappropriate moments to make use of the app, I think the winner would be during a meeting at work (although make sure your boss and colleagues have a sense of humor before attempting this).

When playing around with this, you will see that a great deal of attention has been put into this app from the soundboard itself, where all the icons for each clip have been beautifully created, to the quality of the sounds themselves, there is a definite feel of quality and professionalism that seems to shine from this app.

With Halloween fast approaching this is a perfect time to get yourself some evil, in fact, it has recently been updated to included 12% more evil than before. This may not be the most serious app you’ll ever purchase for your iPhone, but, if you have a bit of a dark side, it may very well be one of the most fun.

Still not sure? Check out EvilPerfected.com for”¦ well, evil perfected.
