After just over 5 weeks in Apple’s App Store approval process, many people thought the app was going to fall victim to the companies questionable ‘approval policies’. In fact, the company, quite controversially, started to count the amount of time since original submission to final approval with a public count-up script.

As a result Opera’s browser gained a huge amount of attention from the mainstream media, worldwide. After their fairly long wait though, everything paid off, with Opera announcing today Apple had indeed approved the application for sale on the App Store, and it would appear on the store shortly.

“We are delighted to offer iPhone and iPod touch users a great browsing experience with the Opera Mini App,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “This app is another step toward Opera’s goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places.”

Sure enough, as expected, the app appeared on the store some hours ago. We’re yet to test this new alternative browser for ourselves, but some initial iTunes reviews suggest the app doesn’t live up to the hype. That said, with Mobile Safari being the native and default browser for all iPhone and iPod touch users out of the box, its hardly surprisingly that when an alternative arrived, it wasn’t welcomed by everyone with open arms.

After what seems like an age in waiting, Apple has finally approved Opera’s alternative browser Opera Mini for iPhone.

[174,16
3500,2320,2021,3507,3501,2319,416,2318
post-17005","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-blog","category-iphone","tag-app-store","tag-arrived","tag-available","tag-ipad","tag-iphone","tag-mini","tag-mobile-safari","tag-opera
["GET
