IK Multimedia<\/a>, a recording and music making giant, has announced the iRig and AmpliTube<\/a> for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. \u00c2\u00a0Finally, I can have the worlds most awesome and truly mobile amp along with my 8 string axe of doom! <\/p>\n

The iRig is a combination of both software and hardware which will allow you to plug your guitar into your idevice of choice and rock out with some of the most\u00c2\u00a0revered\u00c2\u00a0amps of rock history. \u00c2\u00a0With IK Mutimedia’s world class emulation technologies, which even many big name acts use for studio work, these amps sound so authentic, you would swear you were playing through a Fender Twin Reverb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On top of the 5 amps provided, iRig also offers up to 10 stompbox effects, 5 cabinets, and 2 mics to choose from. \u00c2\u00a0A fully configured rig consists of 3 stomp effects, an amp, a cabinet, and a mic. \u00c2\u00a0Once you devise your dream rig, you can save it – up to 36 of them.<\/p>\n

So you got your dream rig saved and your picking your heart out as you write that next big hit, while sitting in a cafe right? \u00c2\u00a0No, wait, that’s more like me. \u00c2\u00a0However, you don’t just have to jam your own riffs and songs. \u00c2\u00a0iRig also allows you to import songs from you iPod’s library so you can jam along side James and Lars to Master of Puppets! \u00c2\u00a0Or Miley Cyrus, if that’s what floats your boat. \u00c2\u00a0We won’t judge, we promise.<\/p>\n

The app will be available in three different\u00c2\u00a0packages; Free ($0.00), LE ($2.99 \/ \u00e2\u201a\u00ac2.39), and Full ($19.99 \/ \u00e2\u201a\u00ac15.99). \u00c2\u00a0Each will include all the functionality such as tuner, metronome and amp saving, however, more amps and effects are available\u00c2\u00a0the higher you go. \u00c2\u00a0You can also add the gear you want via in-app purchases for $2.99 \/ \u00e2\u201a\u00ac2.39 each. \u00c2\u00a0The iRig adapter is available for $39.99 and includes the free version of AmpliTube.<\/p>\n
