If you’re not yet familiar with @Hulu, founded in 2007 and having NBC Universal, News Corp. and The Walt Disney Company as its main shareholders, the site aims to deliver premium video content when, where and how you want it. <\/p>\n
When news broke last month that an iPad subscription plan would be made available for the popular streaming service @Hulu, and it could drop as soon as May 24th<\/a>, many people (including us) got excited.<\/p>\n Today however, @AppleInsider is reporting<\/a> that Peter Kafka of AllThingsD cites people<\/a> familiar with the company’s new iPad-compatible “Hulu Plus<\/a>” service, which will reportedly cost the user $10 a month, as saying:<\/p>\n There is “no way” Hulu Plus will become available next week.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The upcoming application which the company intends to submit to the App Store, will allow users to activate their monthly subscription. But this official application from Hulu is well overdue, with Hulu company executives stating they highly expected to have the app ready alongside the US iPad launch. <\/p>\n One of the reasons for this delay Kafka says is due to Hulu possibly still being in notations with Fox, ABC and NBC over US content rights. Alongside this though, new reports place the three giants as completely in agreement of the $10 a month fee proposed by Hulu.<\/p>\n “And even if Hulu and all of its partners are seeing eye-to-eye — not a given — getting the rights from various programming partners to sell their shows could be a slog,”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n It is still unclear when the service will become available publicly, but when it does we highly expect it to be US-only.<\/p>\n [via @AppleInsider]<\/p>\n
