Penultimate is a very intuitively designed note taking application for the iPad. With its iWork-esque interface and handy features, it’s a welcome addition to the selection of productivity applications currently available for the iPad.<\/p>\n

When you first launch Penultimate, you’re presented with a carousel of notebooks for your filling. One of them is blank, and another is a tutorial on all the different things you can do in Penultimate. The tools you’re able to use are quite basic; a pen with varying thickness based on your speed, an eraser, and a clear page button. What makes this application different from the already available iPad note taking applications is the simplistic and easy to use interface.<\/p>\n

Would I recommend this app to someone wanting a note taking and doodling application on their iPad? Yes, I would, as long as it’s understood that this is not an application for creating the next Picasso or for writing the next great novel.<\/p>\n

What would I change? It would be nice to have a highlighter and the option of a different color pen, but this is still a great application in its current state.<\/p>\n
