If you’ve ever wanted to have the ability to sync your bookmarked pages in the desktop browser @Firefox with your iPhone, to take them on the go with you, you might today be in luck. <\/p>\n

Mozilla has today announced via its official blog<\/a> that it has been hard at work on an iPhone application dubbed ‘Firefox Home<\/a>‘. Currently Firefox is not available on the iPhone, even though competitors such as Apple’s default Safari<\/a> and Opera’s Opera Mini<\/a> are – and who knows if we’ll ever see the popular browser. <\/p>\n

Firefox Home though may just be the next best thing.<\/p>\n

Based on the company’s own Firefox Sync<\/a> technology, the app gives iPhone users instant access to their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and the set of tabs from their most recent browser session. What\u2019s more, it provides Firefox \u201cAwesome Bar\u201d\u009d capability that enables people to get to their favorite web sites with minimal typing.<\/p>\n

Firefox Home for iPhone is part of a broader Mozilla effort to provide a more personal Web experience with more user control. For devices or platforms where we\u2019re unable to provide the \u201cfull\u201d\u009d Firefox browser (either technically or due to policy), we aim to provide users with \u201con the go\u201d\u009d instant access to their personal Firefox history, bookmarks and open tabs on their iPhones, giving them another reason to keep loving Firefox on their desktops.<\/p>\n

Why is this useful?<\/p>\n

1. Left work in a hurry? You can pick up where you left off with access to the list of tabs you just had open on your desktop.
\n 2. Need those directions to that restaurant you were just reading about on your desktop? The confirmation code for your flight? Just start typing in the Awesome Bar and those pages will be right at your fingertips.
\n 3. Does it drive you crazy to have to enter the full URL on your iPhone that you\u2019ve visited several times from your desktop? You won\u2019t need to anymore with this app.
