After all, a developer can update their app with iOS4 functionality, but still ensure they include support for iOS3 and the customers who choose not to upgrade.

Yesterday I got a rather thought-provoking tweet from Twitter user Michael Nachbaur (@NachoMan) who is consequentially also an App Store developer. He says that he is planning to completely drop support for iOS3, citing that iOS4 is just so much easier to work with and code for.

We wanted to get a better idea of just how iOS4 is going to affect future support in App Store releases – and so we’re running a poll. If you’re a developer feel free to join in and as always leave a comment if you are in fact planning to drop support for the previous OS.

Will You Drop Support for iOS3?survey software

With the launch of iOS4 and the new iPhone, app development seems to be making that natural curve to support iOS4 and the new features of the OS.
