There\u2019s something quite nice about RSS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No algorithm<\/strong> deciding what you should see. No notifications fighting for your attention. No need to remember to check a website every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just your favourite sites, collected in one place, waiting for you when you\u2019re ready to read them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, you can add this blog<\/a> to that list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The blog now has a dedicated RSS feed<\/a>, which means you can subscribe and have new posts delivered straight into your favourite RSS reader, as they\u2019re published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you use something like Newsify<\/a><\/strong>, or another RSS app, adding the blog is as simple as subscribing to the feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, how do I subscribe?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are quite a few different things appearing here at the moment \u2014 Apple, apps, technology, old internet memories, and the occasional trip down a particularly nostalgic rabbit hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than relying on social media to tell you when something new has been posted, RSS puts you back in control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You decide what you want to follow, and your RSS reader takes care of the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s also a surprisingly nice way to read blogs. Open your RSS app, see what\u2019s new, pick something that catches your eye and get on with reading it. There\u2019s something refreshingly uncomplicated about that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few good RSS readers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Newsify<\/a><\/strong> is a particularly nice option if you\u2019re reading on an iPhone or iPad, but there are plenty of alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NetNewsWire<\/a><\/strong> is another excellent choice, especially if you like something simple and very Apple-like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feedly<\/a><\/strong> and Inoreader<\/a><\/strong> are worth a look if you follow a lot of websites and want something a little more powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty of others too. The important thing is that you don\u2019t need a particular app. If your RSS reader supports standard feeds, it should work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t need to bookmark the blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t need to keep checking back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t even need to remember the address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just add the feed to your RSS reader and let it do the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
