This might be the coolest iPhone Fold idea I’ve seen yet.

And no, before anyone gets too excited — this isn’t a leak. It’s just a concept.

But it’s one of those concepts that makes you stop scrolling and think: what if Apple actually did this?

The video posted to X by @SimonRAmor imagines Apple’s first foldable taking some serious inspiration from the original iPhone, and honestly, I think it works surprisingly well.

Instead of simply imagining a larger, thinner version of today’s iPhone, it takes that unmistakable 2007 design language and reimagines it for a completely different form factor.

""

The original iPhone had such a distinctive look. The aluminium, the black front, the proportions, the little details that made it immediately recognisable. It was completely different from what came before it, and nearly twenty years later, you can still look at one and instantly know what it is.

Now imagine taking that design language and applying it to Apple’s first foldable.

That’s what makes this particularly fun. We’ve spent so long imagining what an iPhone Fold might look like based on the latest iPhones, that it’s easy to forget Apple has an entire design history it could draw from.

""

And if Apple really is about to introduce its most radical iPhone in years, bringing a little bit of the original iPhone into the design would be a brilliant touch (pun intended).

It would almost feel like the iPhone coming full circle.

From the device that changed the smartphone industry in 2007…

…to a foldable that could define what comes next.

If Apple’s next big iPhone release really did take inspiration from the one that started it all, would you buy it?
