We might have just been given another clue about what Apple is actually going to call its first foldable iPhone<\/strong> \u2014 and yes, it\u2019s coming from another accessory maker<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

CASETiFY appears to have referred to the upcoming foldable iPhone as \u201ciPhone Duo\u201d<\/strong> in a listing on its official website that has since disappeared; a name that immediately stands out given that Apple has never used it for an iPhone release before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, an accessory manufacturer mentioning a name doesn\u2019t necessarily mean it\u2019s confirmed<\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Companies making cases and accessories<\/a> often use internal product names well before a device is officially announced, and those names can sometimes be placeholders rather than the final branding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But \u201ciPhone Duo\u201d is certainly interesting \u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Apple already has a pretty straightforward naming system across the iPhone range, but a foldable device presents a new challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would Apple simply call it iPhone Fold?<\/strong> Could it become an iPhone Ultra?<\/strong> Or has Apple been sitting on a completely different name?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuo\u201d would make some sense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It immediately suggests two halves coming together, while also giving the device a name that feels distinct from the existing iPhone lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And considering just how many accessory companies now appear to be preparing for this device<\/a>, we\u2019re getting dangerously close to the point where there may not be much left for Apple to reveal to us on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name, however, might still be one of the big surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, is Apple\u2019s first foldable really going to be called \u201ciPhone Duo<\/strong>\u201d \u2014 or is this just another case maker getting a little too far ahead of itself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
