You cannot dial landlines or mobiles of which don’t own a Fring account. It is noted in order to use Fring as a VoIP service, you are required to buy Skype talk credits. Credits must be bought directly from Skype.com and are not available for purchase through Fring.</del>

Source .PDF (Page 13)

Original Article:

It’s finally here, Fring [App Store]. The application which was rumored not to be coming due the SDK issues. Steve later stated that VoIP applications for both iPhone and iPod touch would be allowed over a Wifi network, however he stated VoIP over the cellular network was in breach of AT&T and o2 terms and conditions, and therefore was prohibited.

Details are still sketchy, until people (including us) have had chance to survey the application in it’s fullest form, although we do know that Fring for iPhone supports:

Ӣ VoIP (Voice) Calls over WiFi
Ӣ Instant Messaging
Ӣ Integrated dynamic contact list Ӭwith real-time contact availability
Ӣ SIP integration
Ӣ Multiple Connection types

Fring also supports the highly popular VoIP service Skype. Essentially this application allows the phoning of and interaction with people through various well known services, and because it uses Wifi, you won’t eat into those sometimes precious monthly minutes.

Having not tested the application myself yet, it has unclear whether credits have to be purchased in order to use the application’s services.
