The app features five ‘types’ of manipulation:

One finger play mode
The particles react to one finger touching the screen.

Two finger play mode
The particles react to two fingers touching the screen.

Two finger control mode
Certain parameter gets adjusted with a pinch or spread motion.

Action
One-time actions will be performed

Switch
Certain general modes can be turned ON or OFF

The firm describes this app as:

“Particles … flying around, reacting to gravity and other invisible forces… and ever-changing in a rainbow of beautiful colors. Spawn particles respond to a variety of simple touches and swipes on the screen, while also following and circling your finger wherever you place it.”

If you just want to watch Illuminati as a visual display, you can. The particles will actually move themselves and react with forces like gravity, without the need for your involvement. To start messing around with the light streams, touching with three fingers anywhere on the screen will bring up the circular menu. From here you have 19 other ways you can manipulate the display, separated out into the 5 categories described above.

See it in Action:

Around the Bend by The Asteroid Galaxy Tour. â„— 2008 Small Giants.

So, What do I think of it?
It’s visually stunning. Maybe fill in 15 – 20 minutes? Maybe you could just leave it on your dock, and watch the patterns and particles swirl themselves. Just to clarify again, although the video suggests so, this app does not listen to surrounding sound or music. Spawn Illuminati is designed for you personal interact with it, and it will react accordingly. At 1.79, it’s over priced in my eyes. Although it feels more polished than a 0.59 app, they’ve jumped two price tiers. I reckon £1.19 would have been perfect.

Current Status: We’re not rating this one, as we feel it’s entirely up to your personal tastes.

Reviewed at: v2.01
Reviewed on Firmware: 2.2.1
Download size: 0.7MB
Released on: 28th January 2009
Retails for: £1.79

Flickr Pool: Here.
Compatible with: iPod touch Gen 1 & 2 / iPhone Classic / iPhone 3G

Late last night I was browsing the store and came across this.
