Do you have an iPhone? In the US? .. If you’re not unlocked, you’ll likely notice that AT&T isn’t the best of networks. In new research published today though, AT&T may just be the worst of the lot.
According to @AppleInsider, ChangeWave Research today released results of a study of which it conducted on 4,040 smartphone subscribers in the US, in March of this year – and of those, the study found approximately 4.5 percent of calls had been dropped over the last three months. Now, 5% doesn’t sound staggering, but put that against the amount of iPhones that have currently been sold in the US, which according to AdMob stood at 25M in June 2009, and you start to get the bigger picture.
In fact, this study found that of all the US mobile networks, AT&T were the worst for dropped calls over the last 3 months, with the study favoring Verizon.
“AT&T was clearly the worst in the March survey, tacking on yet another increase over the latest ChangeWave research survey. Furthermore, a closer look at the trends show an increasing number of dropped calls among AT&T customers surveyed, and a steadily decreasing number of dropped calls for Verizon customers.”
The iPhone was rumored to be coming to Verizon this year (or next), however this rumor has yet to have any truth to it.
