In what is probably one of the biggest Apple product leaks in the company’s history, if you happen to have seen or been following the recent shenanigans with Gawker media @Gizmodo’s “Next iPhone“, you’ll also probably know by now that the iPhone was real. So real, Apple called personally to ensure it would be returned to them.
Today though, the original iPhone which Gizmodo profiled safely back in Apple’s possession, yet another iPhone prototype has been discovered. And while Gizmodo acutely refrained from giving a full tear down, Vietnamese site taoviet.vn, the new owners of the claimed next generation iPhone, have released both a full video and photos of the device publicly, for everyone to scrutinize.
While Apple continue to call this leak a ‘Prototype’, after outer case parts from a repair company matching the leaked device surfaced, signaling start of production, some people say this may be near final (if not the final) aesthetic design of the next generation iPhone .. dubbed ‘iPhone 4’.
Apple is highly expected to reveal the next generation of iPhone hardware at it’s Worldwide Developers Conference next month, which – having completely sold out in just 8 days – is sure to be an event not to be missed all by itself.
[Update] – As noted by Mashable and our readers, this new prototype has minor differences to the one Gizmodo got its hands on last month.
“There are some minor differences; for example, this one lacks the screws at the bottom. Furthermore, this new device has been turned on, revealing an image of an explosion and the sign “Inferno” on the screen. “
