With just over a week away from the iPad going international in a further 9 countries, Apple has today flicked the switch on the international App Stores, with the on-device stores in now being available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
The move comes as Apple is about to launch the product outside of the United States.
Previous to this, trying to access any of these international stores by changing account information on the device, resulted in the user receiving an error message to the effect of:
“The App Store is not available in your country”
The on-device App Store would then close out back to the homescreen after accepting the error.
Today however, changing your account details under Settings > Store will now log you in to the corresponding international store. These stores are now fully live, being able to purchase Music, apps, videos, TV shows (if available), and more.
Not only is this good news for future iPad owners, but users who imported their devices from the US to these 9 launch countries, can now download and update their apps using their home country accounts. Finally .. Apple.
