After international versions of the on-device App Store started to go live on iPad’s around the world this morning, Italian blog @iPadevice is now reporting that Apple is pushing updates to its international iBookstores as we speak.
iTunes Italia has started to add books to its iBookstore. The iBookstore, now online is slowly filling up with popular iBooks titles.
As noted by the site, the first titles which seem to be appearing on the store are mainly FREE e-books, available from Project Gutenberg.
The iBookstore was recently confirmed as launching intentionally on May 28th, to coincide with Apple’s international launch in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. However, its so far unclear if these changes have propagated to other stores internationally.
It seems Apple, as with the iPad’s on-device App Store, is today taking the international iBookstores online, in preparation for next weeks launch and to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible on launch day.
