With the iPad set to officially launch internationally next Friday, May 28th, Apple has today reportedly started to ship the highly anticipated devices to those who pre-ordered via the Apple Online Store.
Technology blog @Engadget is today reporting they have received numerous tips from readers that the company has started shipping iPads to customers located in both Australia in the United Kingdom. The move comes as Apple gears up to official launch the device in a further 9 countries, next Friday.
As the site notes however, the early shipment notifications from Apple may not necessarily mean you’re in line to get your glossy device early, citing the same “early shipment notification process” happening with customers in the US just a few weeks ago, and no customer received their iPad(s) earlier than the release date.
It is highly expected Apple will set up an embargo with the shipment carriers, meaning the devices will be held until a day or two before the release date, ensuring no customers Christmas comes early.
