Remember I Am Rich which retailed for $999.99 was later pulled and recently returned as You Are Rich?

Yeah, those were the good ol’ App Store pricing days. Today, Phone Security Pro which made its debut onto the store on May 8th and then today received a price increase to $399.99, has today dropped in price to $0.99.

Call it a mistake on Apple’s part, a cry for exposure or simply the developer wanting to cash in on the current popularity of the App Store, this little app went from $0.99 to $399.99 in just 13 days of it being on the store.

Phone Security Pro is nothing that we’ve not already seen before. In fact, its everything we’ve seen before. Displaying a realistic thumbprint scanner, the app gives the illusion you have an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with the ability to read fingerprint data through the touchscreen.

Of course, none of these devices are capable of doing this .. yet. Fun only for its novelty factor and definitely not an app I would like to plunk $399.99 down on, Phone Security Pro is just $0.99 for a limited time.

If Apple was so serious about quality apps in the App store, why such nonsense πŸ™‚

Exactly – Plus, I'm starting to think Apple letting developers choose their own price for their products was kind of a bad idea. Products should be priced at what they're worth, and this is 100% not worth $399, Apple.
