If you had any doubt Apple was going to announce the next-generation iPhone at their WWDC conference next week, (and God knows why you would), @Digg founder and Apple affectionado @KevinRose has reportedly confirmed not only that the device exists, but that he actually already owns the unreleased device.

Sure, the announcement at WWDC is now pretty much a given at this point, but it was still unclear if the device would ship on the day of announcement or a few weeks after the announcement from Jobs, following previous launch schedules for the device.

Today Apple enthusiasts @Macgasm are reporting that the latest episode of @TWiT (This Week In Tech), which features non other than @LeoLaporte may have given a few hints as to Apple’s launch schedule. Just over 35 minutes into the podcast in response to one of Leo’s questions about the EVO, San Fransisco-based @Digg founder Kevin Rose claims to own the next-gen iPhone.

Leo: “I got the EVO. I’m very excited about that. This is the new Sprint Phone”¦ and I have to say, I haven’t seen the new iPhone yet. I know, of course, Kevin, you probably have one.”
Kevin: “The new one?”
Leo: “The new one, yah.”
Kevin: “Yup.”
Leo: “Yah, of couse you do.”

As the site notes, the fact that Rose already owns the next-gen device seems to suggest the product is already in its manufacturing stages and could potentially be ready for public release on or shortly after June 7th.

Whether or not Rose was throwing the tech world a red-herring on what is arguably the largest tech news podcast going, is yet to be seen. That said, Rose has been the source of some pretty cool Apple leaks in the past, of which some have come to fruition.

In fact, reports place him on the Cupertino company’s pre-public product distribution list, alongside @WSJ reporter @WaltMossberg.
