Okay, this might be my favourite iPhone Duo case yet.
Spigen has just teased a new case for the iPhone Duo that looks like it wandered straight out of an Apple store circa 1999.

The colourful, translucent design is unmistakably iMac G3 — the era when Apple wasn’t afraid to make its computers look like actual objects of desire. Bright colours, translucent plastic and that wonderfully playful aesthetic that made the original iMac feel completely unlike anything else on a desk.
And now, somehow…
it’s coming to your pocket.
The case gives the iPhone Duo a colourful retro shell while still letting the phone’s modern design do most of the talking. It’s a pretty perfect collision of old and new: Apple’s newest, most futuristic iPhone wrapped in one of the company’s most recognisable design languages.
There’s something particularly fun about that combination.
The iPhone Duo represents a very different kind of Apple design. It’s thin, foldable and decidedly futuristic. The iMac G3 was the opposite — chunky, colourful and almost deliberately friendly.

Put the two together and the result feels like something Apple itself might have made if the late-’90s design team had somehow been handed an iPhone Duo.
Spigen clearly knows exactly what it’s tapping into here, too. This isn’t the first time the company has revisited Apple’s colourful hardware history with its Classic cases. (YouTube)
And honestly? — I’m here for it.
We’ve spent years making our iPhones increasingly minimal, black, silver and serious.
Maybe the iPhone Duo deserves to have a little fun.
