With just 11 days to go until Apple starts shipping its new tablet device in the US, rumors are now flying that Apple may be gearing to provide select high-profile gadget reviewers with the device as early as Thursday.
Business Insider reports that they have heard from a trusted industry source that Apple may be gearing to provide high-profile media columnists, the likes of which we’re guessing from history will include The Wall Street Journal‘s very own Walt Mossberg and Digg’s Kevin Rose, with review models of the iPad as early as this Thursday.
“We’ve heard from an industry source that Apple is either shipping iPads to reviewers this Thursday, or has already shipped them to be received this Thursday. That should give the reviewers about a week to test out the tablets before their reviews are published. The iPad goes on sale Saturday, April 3.”
As the site also notes though, its still unclear whether this means Apple will be shipping both the Wi-Fi and 3G models of the device to these select reviewers, however its not entirely out of the question if the 3G model is available in small quantities at the time of shipping.
