  • Apple Used to Surprise Us

There was a time when an Apple announcement could genuinely stop you in your tracks.

Not because you had spent six months analysing blurry leaks on Twitter. Not because somebody had posted a CAD render showing exactly what the next iPhone would look like.

Because you simply didn’t know what was coming.

You’d sit down for an Apple keynote, the lights would go down, Steve Jobs would wander onto the stage, and for the next couple of hours you were along for the ride.

  • The Tweetie Era

There was a particular moment in the history of the iPhone when everything just seemed to click.

The App Store was still young. Developers were discovering what the iPhone could actually do. Twitter was becoming a daily habit for an ever-growing number of people. And somewhere in the middle of all of that came Tweetie.

Looking back, it is easy to think of Tweetie as simply another Twitter client.

    It wasn’t.

  • Apple Is Imagining a World Where Nearby iPhones Wirelessly Talk to Each Other

Apple has filed enough patents over the years to cover practically every idea imaginable.

Some become products. Some become features.

And some disappear into the enormous Apple filing cabinet, never to be seen again.

  • Surprise and Shine: John Ternus Gets His First Big Apple Moment

There’s something slightly surreal about the next Apple event.

For years, September has meant one thing: a new iPhone, a familiar stage, a familiar voice, and usually a very familiar face standing in front of the giant Apple logo.

This time, however, there’s a new name at the top of the company.

    John Ternus.

  • Meet John Appleseed: Apple’s Longest-Serving Imaginary Customer

Before there was an iPhone customer, an Apple Pay customer or even a Siri contact, there was John Appleseed.

For years, Apple had a rather unusual recurring character hiding in plain sight.

He wasn’t an executive. He wasn’t a designer. He wasn’t an actor hired for an advert.

    He was John Appleseed.

  • Goodbye, Tim: The End of an Apple Era

There are certain moments in technology that feel bigger than the news itself.

    Today is one of them.

On September 1, 2026, Tim Cook officially stepped down as CEO of Apple, bringing an end to almost 15 years at the very top of one of the most influential companies in the world. John Ternus now takes over as CEO, while Tim Cook moves into the role of executive chairman. (Apple)

And, perhaps surprisingly, I’ve found myself thinking less about Apple’s stock price, quarterly results or what this means for the next iPhone.

Instead, I’ve been thinking about RazorianFly.
