If you’ve ever needed to find someone and their current position on Earth, LOCiMobile might just be what you’re looking for.
After launching the iPhone version of their GPS tracking software in December 2009, GTX Corp has today announced the software will this week be available for the Apple iPad.
Currently sitting at #2 on iTunes highest ranked Social Networking category, and with over 400,000 downloads in 82 countries worldwide, the app which is specifically designed to locate someones location using the devices’ built-in GPS, works by allowing a push notification to be sent to the person you are trying to find. Once they accept the notification LOCiMobile then displays their exact location on a map, providing your recipient has location services switched on under Settings > General > Location Services.
Targeted mainly at parents looking to keep an eye on their children, the app provides a quick and effective way to find the people you’re looking for.

The iPad specific version of the app will allow users to get turn by turn directions to the location or whereabouts of the recipient, using the iPad’s built in Google Maps app.
While not yet available on the store, the company states LOCiMobile should be available on the iPad App Store “sometime this week” for the price of $4.99.
