@Facebook has today updated its official application for iPhone and iPod touch to version 3.1.3.
Alongside the several bug fixes included in this update, Facebook for iPhone now supports video playback. This has been a well requested feature ever since the software debuted without the feature in August 2008. Since then, Facebook have ‘promised’ users the ability to play video in-app over and over – and today it has finally arrived.
Previous to the update only @YouTube based videos were able to be played back, with facebook uploaded videos returning an “Sorry Facebook for iPhone doesn’t yet support video playback” error.
Despite adding video playback, the app is still not universal, meaning although Facebook will run on iPad it has to be ran in double-pixel mode.
Change log:
Facebook version 3.1.3 with video playback support is now available on the App Store for FREE.
